Robert Usher

Robert Usher (* 27. Februar 1901 in Missouri; † 23. Juli 1990 Tehama County, Kalifornien) war ein US-amerikanischer Szenenbildner beim Film.

Robert Usher war ab 1933 als Szenenbildner bzw. Artdirector beim Film in Hollywood tätig, wo er von Paramount Pictures unter Vertrag genommen wurde. 1941 erhielt er zusammen mit Hans Dreier seine erste Nominierung für den Oscar in der Kategorie Bestes Szenenbild für Arise, My Love. 1942 wurde er für Das goldene Tor (Hold Back the Dawn) erneut nominiert. 1945 folgte für Keine Zeit für die Liebe (No Time for Love) eine dritte Nominierung. Er ging jedoch stets leer aus. 1950 zog er sich bereits wieder aus dem Filmgeschäft zurück. Er starb 1990 im Alter von 89 Jahren in Tehama County, Kalifornien.
