Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Union

Die Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Union (SME UNION) ist die Europäische Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsvereinigung der Europäischen Volkspartei.

Die Organisation wurde 1996 als „Netzwerk wirtschaftsfreundlicher christdemokratischer, konservativer und Mitte-Rechts-Politiker sowie politischer Organisationen“ gegründet. Ihre Ziele sind eine Reform der rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen für Klein- und Mittelunternehmen in ganz Europa sowie die Unterstützung und Vertretung derer Interessen.[1]

Präsidentin der SME UNION ist die bulgarische EU-Abgeordnete Nadezhda Neynsky, Vizepräsident ist Marian Petre Milut aus Rumänien. [2] Aus den deutschsprachigen Staaten sind der Österreichische Wirtschaftsbund, die Mittelstands-Union der CSU sowie die Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsvereinigung der CDU/CSU Mitglieder der SME Union.[3]
