Summer Wine

Summer Wine ist ein von Lee Hazlewood geschriebenes Lied. Erstmals wurde das Stück 1966 von Hazlewood und Suzi Jane Hokom eingesungen und veröffentlicht, der große Erfolg blieb aber aus. Bekannt wurde der Titel 1967, als Hazlewood ihn mit der in dieser Zeit sehr erfolgreichen Country-Sängerin Nancy Sinatra erneut aufnahm. Diese zweite Version war ursprünglich nur die B-Seite von Sugar Town, doch als das Lied weltweit populär wurde, wurde es 1968 als eigenständige Single veröffentlicht. Summer Wine war der Auftakt einer Reihe von Duetten von Hazlewood und Sinatra.

Das Lied beschreibt einen Mann, der eine Frau trifft. Die Frau lädt den Mann auf einen Wein ein. Nach starkem Alkoholkonsum wacht der Mann am nächsten Morgen auf und stellt fest, dass er von der mysteriösen Frau ausgeraubt wurde.
