Waterstone's ist der führende Filial-Buchhändler in Großbritannien, der außerdem Filialen in Irland, Brüssel und Amsterdam unterhält. Außerdem werden Bücher über das Internet vertrieben. Gegründet 1982 von Tim Waterstone in der Old Brompton Road (London), ist das Unternehmen heute eine hundertprozentige Tochter der HMV-Group.

Waterstone's beschäftigt derzeit über 4500 Mitarbeiter in 300 Filialen in Großbritannien und Irland.

Im Mai 2011 wurde von der HMV-Group mitgeteilt, dass sie Waterstone's an den russischen Unternehmer Alexander Mamut für 53 Millionen £ verkauft habe. Der Verkauf steht unter dem Vorbehalt der Zustimmung durch die HMV-Aktionäre.[1]
