WhiteWall

WhiteWall ist ein Web 2.0-Portal des Berliner Unternehmens Avenso AG,[1] auf dem Künstler, Galeristen oder Agenturen die Öffentlichkeit erreichen können. Das Portal besteht aus den drei Komponenten Kunstmarkt, Fotolabor und Galerie. WhiteWall soll ähnlich wie Microstock-Agenturen funktionieren.

WhiteWall betreibt außerdem einen Showroom im Stilwerk in Düsseldorf. Kooperationspartner sind der Verlag Gruner+Jahr mit der Zeitschriftengruppe GEO,[2] Reuters und Contentmine.

Die Initiatoren von WhiteWall sind Stefanie Harig und Marc Alexander Ullrich aus Berlin, die 2003 die Editionsgalerie LUMAS gegründet haben. Hubert Burda Media ist an WhiteWall beteiligt.

Im Handelsblatt schreibt Vesco Boenisch über WhiteWall: "Die Internetplattform verfolgt wie Lumas eine so simple wie geschäftskräftige Idee. Sie ermöglicht als "digitaler Kunstmarkt" allen Hobbyfotografen, die vielleicht nur einmal im Leben das perfekte Foto schießen, dieses einem breiten Publikum zu verkaufen."[3] In der taz vergleicht Ralf Hanselle WhiteWall mit der Fotocommunity flickr, nur dass WhiteWall eine eingebaute Kasse habe. Daneben kritisiert er bei Lumas insgesamt die Förderung von Nachahmerkunst hart am Rande der Urheberrechtsverletzung. Insgesamt schade die Teilnahme am Konzept Lumas längerfristig auch Nachwuchskünstlern.[4]
