Die Worble ist ein Fluss im Berner Mittelland und gibt dem Worbletal seinen Namen.

Verlauf

Die Worble entspringt westlich der Gemeinde Schlosswil auf 750 m ü.M. fliesst über die Gemeinden Worb, Boll, Stettlen, Deisswil, Bolligen, Ittigen, Worblaufen auf 501 m ü.M. in die Aare. Am Pegel Ittigen beträgt ihr Einzugsgebiet 60.5 km²[1].

Geschichte

Im Jahr 2007 überschwemmte die Worble Teile von Worb, worauf die Gemeinde Worb 2010 Hochwasserschutzmassnahmen im Umfang von 1.68 Mio CHF beschloss[2].

Nutzung

Bis Anfang 20. Jahrhundert wurde die Wasserkraft der Worble von der Papiermühle in Ittigen, dem Hammerwerk Müller wie auch der Pulverstampfe in Worblaufen wirtschaftlich genutzt.
