Die Continental Hockey League war eine nordamerikanische Eishockey Minor League, welche 1972 gegründet wurde.
Anfangs operierte die Liga ausschließlich im Raum Chicago als Amateurliga mit Juniorenspielern, doch schon bald wurde sie geographisch und organisatorisch so erweitert, dass sie schnell als eine der wichtigsten professionellen Minor Leagues unter der National Hockey League und der World Hockey Association galt.
1986 wurde der Ligenname in All-American Hockey League geändert, doch schon zwei Jahre später schloss man sich mit der aufstrebenden Atlantic Coast Hockey League zusammen und gründete die East Coast Hockey League, die den Großteil der Teams der beiden Ligen in ihren Spielbetrieb aufnahm.
