Crail ist ein kleiner Ort (1780 Einwohner - Schätzung 2004^[1]) auf der schottischen Halbinsel Fife. Die ehemalige königliche Burg wurde im 12. Jahrhundert erbaut. Crail betrieb aber bereits im 9. Jahrhundert regen Handel mit dem Kontinent. Ursprünglich lebte der Ort vom Fischfang. Obwohl man auch heute noch Fisch am malerischen kleinen Hafen kaufen kann, ist Crail heute vor allem eine Touristenattraktion.

Die sehenswerte St.Mary's-Church wurde ebenfalls im 12. Jahrhundert, ein Marktkreuz im 17.Jahrhundert erbaut.

Am Strand neben dem Hafen findet man versteinerte Bäume aus dem Karbon.
