Darasuram (auch: Dharasuram, Tamil: தாராசுரம் Tārācuram) ist eine Stadt im südindischen Bundesstaat Tamil Nadu. Sie liegt drei Kilometer von Kumbakonam entfernt im Distrikt Thanjavur. Zum Zeitpunkt der indischen Volkszählung 2001 hatte Darasuram 13.027 Einwohner.[1]

Die ansonsten unbedeutende Kleinstadt Darasuram ist in erster Linie für den Airavatesvara-Tempel bekannt. Dieser wurde während der Herrschaftszeit der mächtigen Chola-Dynastie Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts von König Rajaraja II. in Auftrag gegeben und gehört zu den bedeutendsten Bauwerken der Chola-Architektur. Als einer von drei „großen Tempel der Chola-Dynastie“ gehört der Airavatesvara-Tempel seit 2004 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.
