David Rudder

David Michael Rudder (* 6. Mai 1953 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) ist ein Musiker und Sänger in den Genres Calypso und Soca.

Person

David Rudder wurde in Belmont geboren und wuchs als eines von neun Kindern auf.[1] 1977 trat er der in Trinidad bekannten Gruppe Charlie's Roots bei, mit denen ihm der nationale Durchbruch gelang.

1986 komponierte Rudder den Calypso The Hammer, in welchem er über den bekannten Steelpanbauer Rudolph Charles sang. Dieser Calypso wurde am Wettbewerb Panorama von vielen Steelbands gespielt.
