Herkunft und Bedeutung

Adela ist wie die Nebenform Adele seit dem Mittelalter eine Kurzform von Namen, die mit Adel- gebildet sind, insbesondere Adelheid. Im Spanischen kommt er auch als eigene Namensform vor.[1]

Namenstag

Namenspatronin ist die heilige Adela von Pfalzel. Ihr Gedenktag ist der 24. Dezember.[2]
