Handlung

Susan Morrison heiratet nach der Scheidung von Frank Morrison den Unternehmer Rick Barnes. Im späteren Verlauf stellt sich raus, dass Rick ein Krimineller ist. Der Sohn von Susan und Frank, Danny, beobachtet Barnes bei einem Mord. Zuerst will ihm niemand glauben. Am Ende kommt es zum Kampf, in dem Rick Barnes stirbt.

Kritiken

Roger Ebert schrieb in der Chicago Sun-Times vom 2. November 2001, John Travolta würde besonders gut sympathische Charaktere spielen, weswegen es schwer vorstellbar wäre, weswegen eine intelligente Frau wie Susan sich von ihm scheiden würde. Er kritisierte ebenfalls die Filmmusik.

Dennis Schwartz fragte in Ozus' World Movie Reviews vom 20. November 2001, ob es für Travolta nicht an der Zeit wäre, in einem guten Film mitzuspielen. Die Leistungen der Darsteller bezeichnete er als lahm, das Drehbuch als furchtbar (awful). Zahlreiche Szenen kritisierte er als unglaubwürdig.

Matt O'Leary wurde im Jahr 2002 für den Young Artist Award nominiert. John Travolta dagegen wurde 2002 für den Spottpreis Goldene Himbeere nominiert.
