El-Assasif

Al-Asasif (arabisch ‏العساسيف‎, DMG al-ʿAsāsīf, „Gänge unter der Erde, die ineinander führen“)[1] ist eine Nekropole in Theben-West östlich von Deir el-Bahri. In al-Asasif wurden Grabanlagen für Beamte des Mittleren Reiches, des Neuen Reiches und der Spätzeit angelegt.

Eine Besonderheit stellen die monumentalen Gräber der 25. und 26. Dynastie dar, für die es keine Gleichnisse in der ägyptischen Geschichte gibt. Eigentümer sind meist Oberdomänenverwalter der Gottesgemahlinnen des Amun.
