Die Ereignisbaumanalyse (englisch Event Tree Analysis) ist ein induktives Verfahren, welches mögliche Folgen eines auftretenden Fehlers bestimmen soll. Sie ist eine Art der Systemanalyse und als Qualitätsmethode in der DIN 25419 beschrieben.

Verfahren

In der Ereignisbaumanalyse wird ein Ereignis, das in einem System auftreten kann, und dessen mögliche Auswirkungen auf das Gesamtsystem untersucht. Die Wirkung des Initialereignisses wird anschließend unter normalen Betriebsbedingungen und unter Annahme, dass die Folgekomponente fehlerhaft ist, betrachtet.
Das Ergebnis der Analyse wird dann grafisch in einem binären Baum dargestellt. Dieser Ereignisbaum wird üblicherweise von rechts nach links gezeichnet, jeweils mit Abzweigungen für zwei Alternativen. Ein oberer Zweig für das erfolgreiche Verhalten des Ereignisses und ein unterer Zweig für dessen Scheitern. Dadurch wird es möglich, verschiedene Pfade zu durchlaufen und eine Unfallsequenz zu identifizieren.
Jeder Abzweig ist dabei mit einer gewissen Ausfall- Fehlerwahrscheinlichkeit verbunden, die als Zahlenwert für jeden Zweig multipliziert die Wahrscheinlichkeit des gesamten Pfades ergibt. Die Unfallwahrscheinlichkeit des Systems erhält man dann durch Kombination aller Pfadwahrscheinlichkeit der Pfade, die zu einem Unfall führen.

Nachteile

  • Da sich die Zahl der Zweige mit jedem Schritt verdoppelt, können in komplexen Systemen sehr große Bäume entstehen.
  • Die gesuchten Wahrscheinlichkeiten können meist nur geschätzt werden, was zu Ungenauigkeiten und Fehlern in der Berechnung der Pfadwahrscheinlichkeiten führen kann.

Einsatz

Die Ereignisbaumanalyse kann frühestens sinnvoll eingesetzt werden, wenn die Systemanforderungen bekannt sind. Sie wird vor allem verwendet, um existierende Systeme zu analysieren.
