Michael Münzing und Luca Anzilotti sind ein deutsches Musikproduzenten-Duo, die als Begründer des Eurodance gelten. Als Pseudonyme nutzten sie auch die Namen Benito Benites (Michael Münzing) und John Virgo Garrett III (Luca Anzilotti). Beide sind unter ihren gemeinsamen Musikprojekten Native Corp. und Power Jam bekannt.

Außerdem waren beide an folgenden Musikprojekten beteiligt:

  • 16 Bit (zusammen mit Sven Väth)
  • OFF (zusammen mit Sven Väth)
  • SNAP! (zusammen mit Durron Butler, Penny Ford, Jackie Harris, Thea Austin)
  • Trust Unlimited (zusammen mit Dieter Kolb)

Laufbahn

1986 erschien unter dem 1985 gegründeten Pseudonym OFF die gemeinsam mit den Frankfurter DJs Michael Münzing und Luca Anzilotti sowie Sven Väth in Frankfurt am Main produzierte Single "Electrica Salsa", die weltweit ein großer Hit wurde. Michael Münzing, Luca Anzilotti und Sven Väth kannten sich aus Zeiten der legendären Diskothek Dorian Gray am Frankfurter Flughafen. Parallel zu OFF wurden Münzing und Anzilotti mit "16 BIT" bekannt.

Nach den ersten großen Erfolgen zogen sich alle zunächst zurück. Sven Väth wechselte Anfang 1987 zurück ins Dorian Gray, wo er vor allem belgischen Underground-Techno auflegte. Mitte 1988 kaufte er dann zusammen mit Michael Münzing und Mathias Martinson den Frankfurter Club "Vogue" auf - eine alte Parkgarage ohne richtige Klimaanlage. Nach einem Totalumbau öffnete die Location auf dem Höhepunkt von Acid House im Oktober als "Omen" - und schrieb ein neues Kapitel globaler Clubgeschichte.

Mit dem 1989 gegründeten Eurodance-Projekt SNAP! schrieben die Frankfurter Produzenten Luca Anzilotti und Michael Münzing ihr Kapitel der Dance-Geschichte. Der internationale Megahit "The Power" startete 1990 die Erfolgsgeschichte des Dance-Projektes. Nach über 20 Millionen verkauften Tonträgern kam mit "Do You See the Light" ein weiterer Angriff auf die oberen Plätze der Charts. Es folgten bis 1996 weitere Hitsingles wie "Ooops Up", "Cult of SNAP!", "Mary Had a Little Boy", "Rhythm Is a Dancer", "Welcome to Tomorrow", doch nachdem sich das Duo ab 1996 mehr trancigen Soundlandschaften zugewandt hatte, blieb der gewohnte Erfolg außerhalb Deutschlands aus. „Rhythm Is a Dancer" war 1992 die meistverkaufte Single in Deutschland und England. Allein in Deutschland stand die Single über zehn Wochen auf Nummer eins und hielt sich 39 Wochen ununterbrochen in den US-Billboard-Charts. Das Album "World Power" zählt mit weit über sieben Millionen verkauften Longplayers zu den erfolgreichsten Dance-Alben.

Sie waren in den USA Nummer 1 sowie auch 31 Wochen in den deutschen Charts, davon 14 Wochen auf Platz eins. Daneben hatten sie weitere sechs weltweite Nummer-1-Hits. Die beiden verkauften rund 100 Millionen Platten (von denen pro Platte als Komponist, Produzent und Texter rund 3 Euro in der Tasche der Künstler bleibt).

Ende der 1990er Jahre bündelten Münzing und Anzelotti in der "in-motion AG" ihre vielfältigen Unternehmeraktivitäten. Ziel war es, ein Player in der Entertainment-Industrie zu werden. Die "in-motion AG" wurde 2006 liquidiert.
