Form (Lehnwort von lat. forma) bezeichnet:

  • Gestalt, die Art und Weise, wie etwas ist oder sich verändert
  • im Sport die körperliche Verfassung eines Menschen, siehe Fitness
  • Form (Kampfkunst), ein feststehender Bewegungsablauf

in den Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik:

  • Form (Algebra), im mathematischen Teilgebiet der Algebra eine bestimmte Sorte von Polynomen
  • Form (Algebraische Geometrie), im mathematischen Teilgebiet der algebraischen Geometrie bestimmte algebraische Gruppen
  • Form (Biologie), ein Taxon
  • in der Kristallographie die Gesamtheit aller zueinander symmetrieäquivalenten Flächen eines Kristalls, siehe Kristallform

in den Geisteswissenschaften:

  • Form (Philosophie), der Endzustand, den das Veränderte annimmt
  • in der Luhmannschen Systemtheorie die Einheit einer Differenz oder die zwei Seiten einer Unterscheidung; siehe Laws of Form
  • Form (Recht), die Anforderungen, die an die äußere Gestaltung bestimmter Handlungen gestellt werden

  • bei Urformtechniken eine Hülle, die einen flüssigen Stoff aufnimmt, bis er erstarrt; siehe Formenbau
  • Backform, ein Küchengerät
  • Puddingform, ein Küchengerät
  • Druckform, im Druckwesen das druckbildtragende Element
