Frithuwald (auch Frithuwold, Friduuald, FrioÞowald, Friðowald) ist ein angelsächsischer männlicher Vorname.[1] Der Name ist aus den Elementen Frith- (=„Friede, Schutz, Ruhe, Sicherheit, Asyl, Ordnung“) und -wald (=„walten, herrschen“) zusammengesetzt.[2] Bedeutende Namensträger waren:

  • Frithuwald Frealafing, mythischer Ahne angelsächsischer Königshäuser
  • Frithuwald (Bernicia), König von Bernicia (579-585)
  • Frithuwald (Surrey), Unterkönig von Surrey (fl. um 675)
  • Frithuwald (Whithorn), Bischof von Whithorn, (um 735-763/764)
