Giovanni Battista Gaulli (* 8. Mai 1639 in Genua; † 2. April 1709 in Rom), auch genannt Baciccio, Il Baciccio oder Baciccia, war ein italienischer Maler des Barock. Er ist besonders als Freskant und Porträtmaler bekannt und wirkte vor allem in Rom.

Gaulli verlor seine Eltern im Jahre 1657 aufgrund einer Pestepidemie. Er war Schüler von Luciano Borzone in Genua. Etwa um 1653 zog er nach Rom, wo er enger Freund des berühmten Malers und Bildhauers Gian Lorenzo Bernini wurde. Dieser vermittelte ihm in Rom zahlreiche Aufträge.

1662 wurde er in die Accademia di San Luca aufgenommen und wurde 1674 Präsident (Principe) dieser Kunstakademie.

Künstlerisch ließ er sich anfangs unter anderem von Peter Paul Rubens und Anthonis van Dyck inspirieren.
