Die Gonzaga University ist eine private Universität in Spokane im US-Bundesstaat Washington. Sie ist eine Jesuitenhochschule und eine von 28 Mitgliedshochschulen der Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Derzeit sind 6.375 Studenten immatrikuliert.

Geschichte

Die Gonzaga University wurde 1887 von Vater Joseph Cataldo, einem aus Italien stammenden Priester gegründet. Die Hochschule ist nach Aloisius von Gonzaga benannt.

Sport

Die Sportteams der Gonzaga University werden die Bulldogs genannt. Die Hochschule ist Mitglied in der West Coast Conference. Durch ihr Basketballteam ist die kleine Hochschule im ganzen Land ein Begriff. So hat die Gonzaga University auch mehrere NBA-Spieler hervorgebracht.
