Die Grand American Road Racing Association oder kurz Grand-Am ist ein US-amerikanischer Motorsportverband mit Sitz in Daytona Beach, Florida, der im Jahre 1999 gegründet wurde und Autorennen in Nordamerika veranstaltet. Neben der American Le Mans Series ist die Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series eine der bedeutendsten US-amerikanischen Sportwagen-Rennserien. Am 4. September 2008 gab die NASCAR eine Zusammenarbeit mit der Grand-Am bekannt, um in den Bereichen Kommunikation, Forschung und Marketing eine gemeinsame Organisation zu ermöglichen.[1]
Rennserien der Grand-Am
Die Grand-Am richtet Rennen in sechs Rennserien aus:
- Die Rolex Sports Car Series für Prototypen- und Ausdauerrennen,
- die Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge für seriennahe Tourenwagen und GT,
- die Ferrari Challenge für Rennen mit Ferrari-Rennwagen der Modelle F360 und F430 sowie für historische Ferrari-Modelle,
- die Shell Historic Challenge, in welcher Modelle der Marken Ferrari, Maserati und Alfa Romeo zum Einsatz kommen,
- die SunTrust Moto-ST Series für Langstrecken-Motorradrennen und
- die Ford Racing Mustang Challenge, in welcher ausschließlich Ford Mustang eingesetzt werden.
