Alignment (engl. für „Ausrichtung“, „Anordnung“, "Positionierung auf Linie") bezeichnet:

  • Sequenzalignment, in Biologie und Bioinformatik die Untersuchung biologischer Sequenzen (wie Nukleinsäure- oder Aminosäuresequenzen) auf funktionelle oder evolutionäre Ähnlichkeit
  • Alignment (Verhalten), das Verhalten von Tieren, das die Bewegungsrichtung eines einzelnen Individuums dem Schwarm anpasst
  • data alignment, in der Informatik bezeichnet dieser Begriff die Speicherausrichtung von Daten
  • shaft alignment, im Maschinenbau bzw. in der Maschinenmontage die Wellenausrichtung
  • das Ausrichten einer astronomischen Montierung an den Sternen
  • Alignment (Vermessung), in der Vermessungstechnik das Abstecken einer geraden Linie

Alignement [aliɲəˈmɑ̃] (frz. für „Ausrichtung“; „in die Reihe stellen“, „Bauflucht“) bezeichnet:

  • in der Archäologie eine megalithische Steinallee oder Steinreihe
