Alnico

Alnico sind Legierungen aus Eisen, Aluminium, Nickel, Kupfer und Cobalt. Aus Alnico werden Permanentmagnete durch Gusstechniken oder Sintern hergestellt. Die Remanenzflussdichte von etwa 0,6 T bis 1,3 T (6000-13000 Gauß) ist relativ hoch im Vergleich zu anderen Magnetwerkstoffen. Wie bei anderen Permanentmagneten auch, ist die Flussdichte an der Oberfläche des Magneten in der Regel deutlich kleiner.

Allerdings ist die Koerzitivfeldstärke von Alnico mit rund 50-100 kA/m vergleichsweise klein und die Gefahr der Entmagnetisierung durch ein externes Feld relativ groß.

Alnico-Magnete finden in Elektromotoren, Sensoren, Lautsprechern und Gitarrentonabnehmern Verwendung. Heute werden sie aber vielfach durch Ferritmagnete oder Neodym-Eisen-Bor ersetzt
