Hub-bypassing

Hub-bypassing bezeichnet das Umgehen von großen Luftfahrt-Drehkreuzen (sog. Hubs) durch die Direktverbindung des Start- und Zielflughafens ohne das Umsteigen auf dem Hub.

Diese Art des Verkehr favorisiert Boeing werbewirksam und begründete damit die Entwicklung ihres neuesten Flugzeugs, der Boeing 787. Kritiker meinen, das könnte an der bisher nicht erfolgreichen Vermarktung des Nachfolgers - und direktem Konkurrenten zum Airbus A380 - der Boeing 747, Boeing 747-800 liegen.
