ICSP

Das International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes (ICSP, Internationale Kommission für die Systematik der Prokaryoten), (früher International Committee on Systematic Bacteriology, ICSB, Internationale Kommission für Systematische Bakteriologie) ist eine Organisation innerhalb der International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS, Internationale Vereinigung der mikrobiologischen Gesellschaften), die die Nomenklatur, Taxonomie der Prokaryoten und die Regeln festlegt, nach denen diese benannt werden.

Zusammensetzung der ICSP

Diese Kommission besteht aus einem Vorstand (executive board), einen Beschlußfassungsausschuss (Judicial Commission) und Mitgliedern, die von den Mitgliedsgesellschaften der IUMS gewählt wurden. In einer Reihe von Unterkommissionen sind Spezialisten für die Nomenklatur und Taxonomie spezifischer Prokaryotengruppen tätig.

Unterkommissionen

Zur Zeit existieren Unterkommissionen für folgende Prokaryotengruppen:
Aeromonadaceae, Vibrionaceae und verwandte Organismen; Genera Agrobacterium und Rhizobium; Bacillus und verwandte Organismen; Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus und verwandte Organismen; Brucella; Burkholderia, Ralstonia und verwandte Organismen; Campylobacter und verwandte Organismen; Clostridien und Clostridium-ähnliche Organismen, Comamonadaceae und verwandte Organismen; Enterobacteriaceae; Flavobacterium- und Cytophaga-ähnliche Bakterien, Gram-negative anaerobe Stäbchen; Halobacteriaceae; Halomonadaceae, Leptospira; Listeria; Methanogene; Micrococcineae; Micromonosporaceae, Streptosporangiaceae und Thermomonosporaceae; Mollicutes; Mycobacterium, Nocardia und verwandte Organismen; Pasteurellaceae; Photosynthetische Prokaryoten; Pseudomonas, Xanthomonas und verwandte Organismen; Pseudonocardineae; Staphylokokken und Streptokokken; Streptomycetaceae

Publikationen der ICSP

Das ICSP ist auch verantwortlich für die Publikation des International Code of Nomenclature of Bacteria (ICNB, Internationaler Code der Bakteriennomenklatur (Bakteriologischer Code)[1]. Dieser Code ist online frei einsehbar.[2].
Von der ICSP als gültig akzeptierte Bezeichnungen für Prokaryoten werden in Listenform zusammengefasst (Approved List of Bacterial Names[3] Auch diese Liste ist online frei verfügbar. [4]
Ferner veröffentlicht das ICSP das International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology[5] (IJSEM, Internationale Zeitschrift für Systematische und Evolutionäre Mikrobiologie ) (früherer Name: International Journal of Systematic Bacteriology (IJSB, Internationale Zeitschrift für Systematische Bakteriologie). In dieser Zeitschrift werden auch die Mitteilungen der ICSP und ihrer Kommissionen veröffentlicht.
