Landmark Education LLC ist ein US-amerikanischer Anbieter für Seminare und Trainings im Bereich Lebenshilfe und Persönlichkeitsentwicklung. Nach eigenen Angaben hat das in San Francisco ansässige Unternehmen in 53 Regionalbüros in 19 Ländern über 475 festangestellte Mitarbeiter.[1] Jährlich besuchen weltweit circa 175.000 Teilnehmer die Veranstaltungen, die von etwa 780 Seminarleitern gehalten werden.[2]

Programme

Landmark Education bietet verschiedene Seminare und Programme an. Dar zentrale Kurs, das Landmark Forum, ist gleichzeitig auch Basiskurs im Curriculum des Lebens, das aus drei Kursen besteht[3].

Das Landmark Forum

Das 3-tägige Landmark Forum ist der Basiskurs von Landmark Education und weltweit am meisten gebucht. Die Teilnehmer sollen einen neuen Zugang zu ihrem Leben, ihren Beziehungen und ihrer Zukunft erlangen. Die grundlegenden Unterscheidungen der Landmark-Arbeit werden vermittelt.

Fortgeschrittenen-Kurs

In dem 3-tägigen Programm sollen die Teilnehmer die im Forum gewonnenen Erkenntnisse und Möglichkeiten vertiefen: Ein Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf Gruppendynamik und zwischenmenschlicher Verantwortung. Die Teilnehmer des Kurses coachen sich gegenseitig. Zum Abschluss verabschiedet jeder Teilnehmer seinen Akt, ein Bündel aus allen Wahrheiten, Verhaltensweisen und Ängsten, die das Leben bis zu diesem Punkt bestimmten und kreiert eine neue Möglichkeit für sein Leben.

Weitere Programme

Des Weiteren gibt es noch einen Abend-Kurs Forum in Aktion, das Programm für Selbstaudruck und Führungsqualität, 10-Abend Seminare (zu Themen wie Erfüllung, Zeit-Management, Sexualität und Intimität, Beziehungen, Geld oder Fitness), Wisdom-Kurs und andere.

Geschichte

Werner Erhard (1977)

Das Vorgänger-Unternehmen von Landmark Education war Erhard Seminars Training (est) [4]. Es wurde vom US-Amerikaner Werner Erhard (* 5. September 1935 in Philadelphia, ehem. John Paul Rosenberg) nach einer Reihe von Verkaufs- und Selbsterfahrungskursen ins Leben gerufen. Zwischen 1981 und 1984 hielt Werner Erhard immer wieder Erhard-Seminar-Trainings ab. Danach wurde daraus 1984 das Programm 'Forum' entwickelt.

1991 verkaufte Werner Ehrhard die Rechte an seinen Seminar-Trainings an seine Mitarbeiter, welche die Organisation "Landmark Education" gründeten und die Kursprogramme seitdem kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt haben.

Landmark Education bietet heute eine Vielzahl an Seminaren, Kursen und Programmen im Bereich persönlicher und geschäftlicher Weiterentwicklung an. Das zentrale Programm ist das 'Landmark Forum'. Heute unterhält Landmark Education Büros in 19 Ländern und 53 Städten weltweit. Diese Repräsentanzen bieten Kurse in rund 125 Städten an. Nach eigenen Angaben haben bis heute ca. 1,3 Millionen Menschen an den Programmen teilgenommen[5]. Am erfolgreichsten ist das Unternehmen in den USA, in England sowie in Neuseeland.

Rezeption

Der israelische Soziologe Gidi Rubinstein untersuchte das Landmark-Forum mit Hilfe eines Fagebogens in einer Umfrage als Großgruppentraining. Solche Trainings gehen normalerweise von der Annahme aus, dass Menschen in der Lage sind, ihr eigenes Leben zu ändern, indem sie nicht die äußeren Umstände ändern, sondern die Art und Weise, wie sie diese interpretieren [6]. Rubinstein beschreibt, das Teilnehmer des Forums dazu ermutigt werden den Unterschied zwischen Fakten und Interpretation zu bemerken.[7]

Der Vorläufer von Landmark Education, Erhard Seminars Training, wurde von Sheridan Fenwick [8] als eine unqualifizierte Form von Psychotherapie angesehen und seine Methoden der Verhaltensformung mit denen von Synanon und Scientology verglichen.
