Der Xbox Live Marktplatz ist ein in die Videospiel-Konsole Xbox 360 integrierter Service, der es dem Benutzer erlaubt, Inhalte auf seine Videospielkonsole herunterzuladen. Angeboten werden Demos, Videos, Hintergrundbilder für das Dashboard (sogenannte Themes), Profilbilder sowie Xbox Live Arcade-Spiele.

Seit Dezember 2007 kann man sich Spielfilme ausleihen. Diese stehen entweder in SDTV (Standard) oder gelegentlich auch in HDTV zur Verfügung. Es besteht außerdem die Möglichkeit, alte Spiele der ersten Xbox-Generation online zu kaufen.

Microsoft Points

Microsoft Points (MSP) ist eine von Microsoft eingeführte interne Währung für den Service. Diese können per Kreditkarte direkt online oder auf einer Guthabenkarte im Fachhandel erworben werden.Die Guthabenkarte ist in Werten von 2100 bzw. 4200 , vorübergehend auch 1600 Punkten zu kaufen. Der Wechselkurs beträgt je nach Anbieter zwischen 84:1 MSP/EUR und 87:1 MSP/EUR. Microsoft Points werden auch für den MP3-Player Zune benutzt, um die Preise für kostenpflichtigen Lieder-Download zu benennen.

Xbox Live Arcade ist ein, in die Benutzerführung der Konsole eingebauter, Service, der es kleineren Unternehmen, die Spiele entwickeln, erlaubt, zu geringen Kosten, meist einfache, Spiele zum Download zur Verfügung zu stellen. Die meisten dieser Spiele verfügen über eine Bestenliste, mit der man sich mit anderen Spielern aus der ganzen Welt messen kann.
