Im Jahr 2001 betrug die Bevölkerung 55.334 auf einer Gesamtfläche von 4.291 km². Sitz der Gemeindeverwaltung ist Ladybrand.[1] Sello Dennis Ntsepe ist der Bürgermeister.[2]
Die Gemeinde ist benannt nach einer Schwester von König Moshoeshoe I.. Da er glaubte, sie sei mächtiger als er, verbannte er sie aus seinem Königreich. [3]
