Arbitrageur

Der Arbitrageur (auch Arbitrage-Unternehmer) ist ein Marktteilnehmer, der Bewertungsunterschiede zwischen (regional oder zeitlich) auseinanderfallenden Märkten entdeckt. Er eliminiert diese durch Arbitrage-Handel (bei zeitlich auseinanderfallenden Märkten auch Spekulation). Das Konzept des Arbitrage betreibenden Arbitrage-Unternehmers geht auf Joseph Schumpeter zurück, der ihm den innovativen „schöpferischen Unternehmer“ gegenüber stellt. Der Arbitrageur nutzt Marktintransparenzen und unvollständige Informationen aus und fördert damit bei unvollkommenen Märkten ungewollt den Wettbewerb, indem er die anfängliche Unwissenheit der Marktteilnehmer überwindet.
