Als Venushügel – auch als Schamhügel, Schamberg oder in der medizinischen Fachsprache als Mons pubis oder mons veneris bezeichnet – wird die aus subkutanem Fettgewebe bestehende leichte Erhebung über dem weiblichen Schambein bezeichnet. Der Venushügel beginnt an der Stelle, wo die äußeren Schamlippen vorne zusammenlaufen (Commissura labiorum anterior). Er ist im natürlichen Zustand mit Schamhaaren bedeckt.

Sonstiges

  • In jüngster Zeit hat sich die Intimrasur stark verbreitet, so dass viele Frauen die Haare auf dem Venushügel entfernen.
  • Es gibt zwei Piercingvarianten am Venushügel: das Christina- sowie das Nefertiti-Piercing.
  • die umgangssprachliche englische Bezeichnung lautet Fanny Hill, wonach auch eine erotische Romanserie benannt wurde.
  • Als Venushügel wird auch der Thenar beim Handlesen bezeichnet, wo der Sitz der Gerechtigkeit und Sinnlichkeit sein soll.
