Elizabeth, 1) Hauptstadt der Grafschaft Union im nordamerikan. Staat New Yersey, am Staten Island-Sund, 15 km südwestlich von New York (s. Stadtplan »New York«), mit bedeutender Industrie (1900: 419 Betriebe mit 10,497 Arbeitern u. 6,024,497 Doll. Produktionswert), starkem Kohlen- und Eisenhandel und (1900) 52,130 Einw. In dem an die Newark-Bai stoßenden Teil, Elizabethport, ist die große Singer-Nähmaschinenfabrik mit 3300 Arbeitern. – 2) Hauptort der Grafschaft Pasquotank im nordamerikan. Staat Nordcarolina, am Pasquotank, der in den Albemarlesund mündet, und am Dismal Swamp-Kanal, mit Sägemühlen und Hobelwerken, hat (1900) 6348 Einw. – 3) S. Port Elizabeth.
