Banim (Benim), Joseph, geb. 1800, gest. 1842, Irländer, Novellist, unerschöpflich in trefflichen Schilderungen der Poesie, des Schicksales und des Unglückes seines Landes und Volkes, seit »Peter aus der alten Burg« und »das Haus Nowla« sind ins Deutsche über setzt worden.
