Ourmedia

Ourmedia ist ein Internetprojekt, das als digitales Archiv in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Internetarchiv dauerhaften Speicherplatz für Texte, Bilder, Audiodateien, Videos und andere in digitaler Form vorliegende Medien bereitstellt. Die Webpräsenz wurde am 21. März 2005 eröffnet.

Ourmedia versteht sich als kreative Plattform und Open-Source-Projekt, das es ermöglichen soll, bestehende Inhalte zu verbessern („Remix-Plattform“). Ein vergleichbares Projekt ist Wikimedia Commons.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen freie Inhalte, es werden aber auch andere urheberrechtlich geschützte Inhalte aufgenommen. Nicht aufgenommen wird Pornografie.

Gründer von Ourmedia.org sind Marc Canter and J. D. Lasica. Zum Advisory Board zählen unter anderem Angela Beesley (Wikimedia Foundation), Lawrence Lessig (Creative Commons) und Brewster Kahle (Internetarchiv).
