Botany Downs ist ein Stadtteil der Stadt Manukau im Osten von Auckland, der größten Stadt Neuseelands. Es gehört zum Bereich Dannemora. Botany Downs zieht sich vom Flachland über Hügel und bietet ein volles Spektrum an naturreichen Regionen.

Sehenswürdigkeiten

Botany zeichnet sich hauptsächlich durch das "Botany Town Center" aus, in welchem man Food Courts, Supermärkte und kleine Shops findet, die von privaten Unternehmern betrieben werden.

Bevölkerung

Die Einwohnerzahl wird nach einer Zählung für das Jahr 2001 mit 4.701 angegeben. Dabei zeigt sich ein in Neuseeland gewöhnliches Bild ethnischer Gruppen. Asiaten und Inder sind, neben den einheimischen Neuseeländern, die größten vorkommenden Bevölkerungsgruppen. Ebenso wie die Māori bringen sie aber keinerlei Konflikte mit sich, sondern machen Botany Downs zu einem insgesamt sehr friedlichen und lebenswerten Ort.
