Die International Wrestling Association, kurz I. W. A. Puerto Rico, ist ein Wrestlingverband, der 1999 in Puerto Rico von Victor Quiñones gegründet wurde.
Als Alternativ-Kürzel wird mitunter auch IWA Puerto Rico verwendet.
Geschichte
Die Vorgeschichte der I. W. A. Puerto Rico begann bereits 1994 in Japan, als Victor Quiñones die I. W. A. Japan gründete. Die I. W. A. Puerto Rico gilt als deren spanischsprache Schwesterorganisation für Lateinamerika.
Zwischen den Jahren von 1999 und 2001 war die I. W. A. Puerto Rico ein (inoffizielles) Entwicklungsterritorium von World Wrestling Entertainment und damit eine Farmliga des Wrestling-Marktführers, da diese Liga noch bis 2007 offizielles Mitglied der NWA war.
Die I. W. A. Puerto Rico darf nicht mit der IWA von Eddie Einhorn verwechselt werden, die in den 1970er Jahren als Teil der NWA betrieben wurde.
Die heutige I. W. A. Puerto Rico ist die unmittelbare Konkurrenzliga des World Wrestling Council.
