Karambar-Pass

Der Karambar-Pass (auch Karomber oder Kromber-Pass) mit einer Höhe von etwa 4300 Metern ist ein Hochgebirgspass in Pakistan.

Dieser Pass verbindet das Yarkhun-Fluss des oberen Chitral-Distrikts mit dem Karambar-Fluss im Bezirk von Ishkoman des Ghizer-Distrikts. Der Pass befindet sich etwa 2 Kilometer vom etwa 4 Kilometer langen Karambersee im Westen entfernt, der von einer Eisbarriere aufgestaut wird und den Karambar-Fluss speist. Die aufgestauten Wasser des Sees haben das Karambar-Tal in der Vergangenheit geformt und mehrmal überflutet und zu Zerstörungen geführt. Er bedroht bis zum heutigen Tage die talabwärts befindlichen Dörfer.[1][2]

Der Karambar-Fluss ist auch als Ishkoman-Fluss bekannt und fließt in den Ghizer-Fluss bei Gahkuch und wird dort zum Gligit-Fluss.

Im Süden des Passes liegt der Dusuk, ein 5.748 Meter hoher Berg. Er bildet das Dreiländereck Pakistan, Kaschmir und Afghanistan. Etwa 25 Kilometer vom Karambar-Pass entfernt befindet sich der Broghol-Pass.
