Dikwella ist ein kleiner Fischerort im Süden der Insel Sri Lanka, zwischen Matara und Tangalle gelegen. Er bietet einen der schönsten Strände des Landes am Indischen Ozean. Hier entsteht nach dem Tsunami von 2004 eine neue Infrastruktur. Hotels und kleine Gästehäuser bieten Unterkünfte für Individualreisende an. In Dikwella steht die höchste Buddhastatue von Sri Lanka. Diese befindet sich im Tempel Wewurukannala Vihara. Etwa 3 km vom Ort gibt es eine weitere Attraktion: das Blasloch "Blow Hole". Eine Felsspalte im Berg bläst Wasserfontänen meterhoch in die Luft. Während der Regenzeit ist dieses Naturschauspiel besonders ausgeprägt zu beobachten.
