Interconnected Networks

Interconnected Networks (dt. Zusammengeschaltete Netzwerke) bezeichnet ein Computernetzwerk, das aus mehreren kleineren Teilnetzen besteht. Das bekannteste Beispiel hierfür ist das Internet. Ursprünglich wurden Interconnected Networks als Internets abgekürzt, als das weltumspannde Internet populärer wurde, begann man nur dieses als Internet zu bezeichnen. Dabei ist es bis heute geblieben.
