Balisto ist ein Getreideriegel mit Schokoladenüberzug im Vertrieb von Mars Incorporated. Üblicherweise befinden sich zwei, sechs oder neun Riegel in einer Verpackung, die zusammen 37 g, 111 g oder 166,5 g wiegen. Balisto ist seit 1981 auf dem deutschsprachigen Markt. Balisto ist seit Sommer 2011 der erste nachhaltig zertifzierter Schokoriegel in Deutschland. Die Nachhaltigkeit wird von Utz Certified sichergestellt. [1] Auch in den Niederlanden und anderen europäischen Ländern ist das Produkt vertreten.

Balisto wird produziert in den Variationen

  • Korn-Mix
  • Joghurt-Beeren-Mix
  • Muesli-Mix
  • Erdbeer-Joghurt-Mix
  • Honig-Mandel-Mix

Allerdings werden nicht alle Variationen in jedem Vertriebsland angeboten.
In den 1990er Jahren wurde zeitweise auch eine Variante mit Spekulatius-Geschmack produziert.

Inhaltsstoffe und Nährwertangaben der Variante Müsli-Mix

Zutatenliste: Milchcreme 16%, Milchschokolade 39%, gehärtetes Pflanzenfett, Weizenvollkornmehl (7,7%), Haferflocken, Kakaobutter, Rosinen 7,1%, Magermilchpulver (5%), Kakaomasse, Weizenvollkornschrot 4,6%, Vollmilchpulver 2,7%, Milchzucker, Haselnüsse 1,9%, Butterfett, entsalztes Molkepulver, Magermilchjoghurtpulver, Emulgator (Sojalecithin), Salz, Backtriebmittel (Natriumhydrogencarbonat), Aroma (Mandel),

Ein Riegel Balisto Müsli-Mix (18,5 g) hat laut Herstellerangaben einen Nährwert (Brennwert) von 394 kJ (94 kcal) und enthält 11,8 g Kohlenhydrate (1,2 KE; 1 BE), (davon 8,2 g Zucker), 1,4 g Eiweiß und 4,9 g Fett.

Kritik

Balisto enthält 42% Zucker und ist somit als ganz normale Süßigkeit einzustufen. Dies steht im Gegensatz zur ursprünglichen Bewerbung, wo der Riegel als gesund, da ballaststoffhaltig angepriesen wurde. Andere Riegel enthalten aber oft noch mehr Zucker, wie zum Beispiel Mars mit fast 69%[2].

Seit kurzem sind die Riegel nicht mehr 20 Gramm, sondern nur noch 18,5 Gramm schwer, der Preis ist unverändert geblieben.
