Kärnten läuft

Kärnten läuft ist ein Halbmarathon, der seit 2002 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee stattfindet und von der Kleinen Zeitung veranstaltet wird. Zum Wettbewerb gehört auch ein Viertelmarathon. Am Vortag werden zudem Kinderbewerbe, ein Familien- und ein Frauenlauf sowie ein Dogging-Bewerb ausgetragen.

Geschichte

Kärnten läuft ersetzte im Kärntner Sportkalender den vom Klagenfurter Leichtathletik Club organisierten Klagenfurt-Marathon, der zwischen 1997 und 2001 fünfmal ausgetragen wurde. Folgende Athleten siegten bei diesem Lauf, in den 1999 und 2001 die österreichische Marathonmeisterschaft integriert war:

Strecke

Der Halbmarathon startet in Velden und führt am Nordufer des Wörthersees entlang über Pörtschach und Krumpendorf nach Klagenfurt. Der Viertelmarathon startet in Pörtschach und ist mit der zweiten Hälfte des Hauptbewerbs identisch.
