Take Me with U ist ein Lied von Prince aus dem Jahr 1985, es erschien auf seinem Album Purple Rain, es wurde als letzte Single des Albums veröffentlicht. Es ist ein Pop-Rock Song, welches vor allem durch seinen Drum und E-Gitarren Solo von Prince auffällt.

Hintergrund

Das Lied ist ein Duett mit Apollonia Kotero und sollte ursprünglich auf ihren Album Apollonia 6 erscheinen, aber letztlich entschied man sich für Purple Rain. Das Lied Take Me with U zeigt eine sanftere Seite von Prince und war sein erster offizieller Duett. Die ursprüngliche Fassung des Liedes ist einer Minute länger als die Single-Auskopplung, aber die Version der Single-Auskopplung wird von den meisten Fans bevorzugt. Auf der B-Seite zum Titel ist Baby I'm a Star, ebenfalls aus dem Album, enthalten. Das Lied erreichte 1985 Platz 25 in den amerikanischen Billboard Hot 100 und Platz 7 in den britischen Charts.
