Die SAP Mobile Infrastructure (MI) ist eine Plattform zur Entwicklung und zum Betrieb mobiler (Offline-)Anwendungen der SAP AG. Sie ist Teil von SAP NetWeaver und nutzt als Basis den Web Application Server (Java und ABAP, ab Version 6.20).

Client-seitig sorgt eine plattformunabhängige Java-API namens SAP Mobile Engine (SAP ME, oder nur ME)[1] dafür, dass Daten persistent im File-System oder einer Datenbank abgelegt und bei Bedarf (und vorhandener Online-Verbindung) mit einem SAP-System synchronisiert werden können.

Die Middleware, bestehend aus einer Java- und ABAP-Instanz des WebAS, synchronisiert die Daten auf den mobilen Clients mit den Backend-Systemen. Dies können beliebige SAP-Systeme sein, die das RFC-Protokoll unterstützen. Außerdem dient die Middleware zur zentralen Verwaltung der mobilen Clients und der darauf installierten Applikationen.

Mit Hilfe des Mobile Development Kits (MDK) im NetWeaver Developer Studio können Entwickler eigene Anwendungen auf Basis der Plattform entwickeln.
