The Tourists

The Tourists waren eine britische Popband, die von 1977 bis 1980 bestand. Zu Band zählten die Gitarristen David A. Stewart und Peet Coombes, die Sängerin Annie Lennox und später noch der Bassgitarrist Eddie Chin und der Schlagzeuger Jim Toomey. Die Band produzierte drei Alben und mehrere Singles. Zu den Erfolgen zählte das Dusty Springfield-Cover I Only Want to Be with You. Insbesondere der Produzent Conny Plank beeinflusste die Band nachhaltig. Die Band teilte sich später, Coombes und Chin bildeten das Projekt namens Acid Drops, zum anderen formten Stewart und Lennox die Eurythmics.
