Das Bathurst Lighthouse ist einer von zwei Leuchttürmen auf Rottnest Island, das andere ist das Wadjemup Lighthouse. Die Insel Rottnest Island befindet sich in Western Australia in der Nähe von Perth. Das Bathurst Lighthouse befindet sich am Bathurst Point im Nordosten der Insel und wurde im Jahr 1900 in Betrieb genommen, da es eine Reihe von Schiffsunfällen in diesem Gebiet gegeben hatte, darunter der Verlust des Schiffes City of York in 1899.

Die Lichtquelle und das Laternenhaus wurden ursprünglich auf Cape Leeuwin benutzt, aber auf Rottnest Island gebaut. 1920 wurde die ursprüngliche Azetylenflamme durch einen Blitz ersetzt, was den Leuchtturmwärter überflüssig machte. Elektrisches Licht wurde im Jahr 1986 installiert.

Das Bathurst Lighthouse diente als rückwärtiges Signallicht für die beiden auf Kingston Reef installierten Lichter, die die Schiffe von Fremantle durch die Riffe der Insel sicher führten sollten. Das Lichtblitze des Leuchtturms waren charakterisiert durch vier Blitze, die alle 16 Sekunden aufleuchteten.
