Hostage of Time ist ein Dokumentarfilm aus dem Libanon von 1994, (50min), produziert von Jean K. Chamoun

Israel griff Anfang der 80er in den Bürgerkrieg im Libanon ein, und marschierte 1982 in Beirut ein. Nach hohen Verlusten und internationalem Druck zog sich Israel zunächst teilweise, und erst 2000 auch aus Süd-Libanon zurück.

Der Film begleitet eine junge Ärztin, die aus den USA zurück in den Libanon gekehrt ist. Ihr Dorf ist, zusammen mit 50 weiteren Dörfern bei israelischen Luftangriffen zerstört worden. Dabei waren ca. 500.000 Menschen vertrieben worden.

Durch ihre Arbeit mit den Frauen und Kindern in den umliegenden Dörfern lassen sich Einblicke gewinnen in das Leben, die Hoffnungen und Träume der Menschen im südlichen Libanon und ihren Versuchen, sich ein neues Leben aufzubauen.
