Jilu ist ein gebirgiger Distrikt in der türkischen Provinz Hakkâri.

Bis 1915 war Jilu noch von assyrischen Christen bewohnt. Die assyrischen Christen in Hakkâri lebten in mehreren Stämmen, wobei jeder Stamm ein eigenes Gebiet bewohnte. Die größten Stämme in Hakkâri waren Tiari, Tkhuma, Diz, Tal, Baz und Jilu.

Von diesen galt Jilu als der wildeste Stamm, der die abgelegendste Region bewohnte, den südlichen Hängen des Cilo Dağı, einem 4125 Meter hohen Berg. Das Stammesgebiet umfasste 17 Dörfer. Die wichtigsten davon waren Mar Zeya, Zir, Zirini, Nara, Nerik, Bebokra, Ommud, Talana.

Mar Zeya war das größte und wichtigste Dorf in Jilu. In Mar Zeya stand die Kirche des heiligen Mar Zeya und der Sitz des Bischofs der Assyrischen Kirche des Ostens in Jilu. Die Bewohner von Jilu wurden Julwe genannt.

Von den 40.000 in Hakkâri lebenden Assyrern kamen alleine 5000 aus Jilu.
