Das Kernprodukt ist Open Text ECM Suite, eine Content-Management-Software für große Unternehmen. Es ermöglicht örtlich verteilten Teams eine Kollaborationsplattform aufzubauen. Diese Plattform ermöglicht die gesicherte Ablage von Dokumenten, die Verschlagwortung, das definierte regelbasierte Löschen von Dokumenten (Records Management). Dokumente sind im Volltext suchbar. Es existieren Integrationen mit SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Sharepoint, MS Exchange, IBM Lotus Notes.

Zu Open Text gehören unter anderem die Marken Hummingbird, RedDot, Artesia, DOMEA und Gauss Interprise.[3] Per 21. Juli 2009 erfolgte die Übernahme von Vignette.[4]

Im Jahr 1995 akquirierte Open Text das Unternehmen Odesta und dessen Schlüssel-Technologie Livelink. Livelink ECM ist eine Content Management Software für global agierende Unternehmen. Es ermöglicht örtlich verteilten Teams eine Kollaborationsplattform aufzubauen und so länderübergreifend zusammenzuarbeiten. Es wird unter anderem seit 2005 für Sharenet, das Wissensmanagementsystem der Siemens Communication, eingesetzt.
