Asmā bint Marwān

Asmā bint Marwān, arabisch عصماء بنت مروان wörtlich Asma, († 25. März 624 oder 26. März 624) Tochter des Marwan, war eine Dichterin, die auf Anordnung Mohammeds getötet wurde.

Sie verfasste Spottgedichte auf die Gläubigen. Aloys Sprenger merkt an, das Asma nach mehreren Traditionen (Überlieferungen) Jüdin war. Die Tat wurde ausgeführt durch den blinden 'Omayr, ein Mitglied ihres Stammes, der zum Islam übergetreten war. In der Nacht vom 25. zum 26. März 624 schlich er sich in ihr Haus. Er fand sie von ihren fünf (nach anderer Quelle:sieben) Kindern umgeben in tiefem Schlafe vor, ein Säugling auf ihrer Brust. Er entfernte den Säugling und stach ihr das Schwert durch den Leib. Am folgenden Tag verrichtete er das Frühgebet mit dem Propheten. Er äußerte seine Sorge, dass ihm (Mohammed) der Mord Verlegenheit bringen könnte. Der Prophet antwortete: 'Es werden sich nicht zwei Ziegen daran stoßen.' Diese Äußerung wurde zum Sprichwort.

Wenige Wochen später wurde der greise Abu 'Afak أبو عفك - auf Wunsch Mohammeds - ermordet. Er gehörte dem arabischen Geschlecht 'Amr b.'Awf (Amr ibn Auf) an und bekannte sich zum Judentum. Wegen seines Talentes und Freimuts erachtete Mohammed ihn für gefährlich. Abu 'Afak rief in Gedichten die Madyner (Bewohner Medinas) auf, sich der Autorität Mohammeds zu widersetzen und treu an den alten Bündnissen festzuhalten. Sprenger, A.: "Salim b.'Omayr, ein armer 'Amrite, durchbohrte den Greis im Schlafe, als dieser, der großen Hitze wegen, die Nacht im Hofe des Hauses zubrachte."
