Sie liegt ungefähr 35 km südöstlich von Birmingham in den West Midlands - England. Sie wurde im Jahr 1843 als "Coventry College of Design" gegründet. Nach dem Zusammenschluss mit zwei anderen Colleges und verschiedenen Namensänderungen bekam sie ihren heutigen Namen im Jahr 1992.
An der Universität sind rund 15.000 Studenten aus 90 Ländern eingeschrieben und beschäftigt etwa 2.500 Mitarbeiter.
Einrichtungen
Neben einem eigenen Radiosender besitzt die Universität eine gut organisierte Studentenvereinigung (CUSU), die sich um die Belange der Studenten kümmert, diverse sportliche und soziale Aktivitäten und Dienste anbietet sowie ein eigenen Club betreibt.
