Longboat Key ist eine etwa 7 Meilen lange, den Städten Bradenton und Sarasota vorgelagerte Insel südlich der Tampa Bay mit einem einzigen Ort, der ebenfalls Longboat Key heißt. Dieser hat etwa 7000 Einwohner. Longboat Key weist sich durch ein mildes Klima mit heißen Sommern und durchgehend vielen Niederschlägen aus. Wichtigster Wirtschaftszweig ist der Tourismus.
