Petra Burka

Petra Burka (* 17. November 1946 in Amsterdam) ist eine ehemalige kanadische Eiskunstläuferin.

Ihre Eltern wanderten mit ihr 1951 aus den Niederlanden nach Kanada aus. In den Jahren 1964 bis 1966 wurde sie kanadische Meisterin. 1964 gewann Burka die Bronzemedaille bei den Olympischen Spielen in Innsbruck und bei der Weltmeisterschaft. 1965 gelang ihr mit dem Sieg bei der Weltmeisterschaft ihr größter sportlicher Erfolg. Dies war der erste kanadische Weltmeisterschaftssieg bei den Damen nach Barbara Ann Scott im Jahr 1947.

Petra Burka war die erste Eiskunstläuferin, die einen dreifachen Sprung, den dreifachen Salchow, durchführte. Nach ihrem Karriereende wurde sie Trainerin und Kommentatorin bei CBS und CBC.
